Gall Bladder Treatment

We provide advanced, ethical, and patient-centered treatment for gall bladder diseases using modern laparoscopic techniques. Our focus is safe surgery, faster recovery, and long-term relief from symptoms. The surgery can be performed as a day care procedure.

Gall Bladder Stones (Cholelithiasis)

The gall bladder is a small organ located below the liver that stores and concentrates bile. It releases bile into the small intestine to help in the digestion of fats. Cholelithiasis refers to hardened deposits (gall stones) that form inside the gall bladder due to an imbalance in the composition of bile.

Gall stones may cause symptoms such as abdominal pain (especially in the right upper abdomen), nausea, vomiting, indigestion, bloating, and sometimes fever if infection develops. In symptomatic cases, laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder) is the standard and most effective treatment.

Symptoms of Gall Bladder Stones

Some patients may remain asymptomatic. When symptoms occur, they may include:

  • Severe pain in the upper right abdomen
  • Pain radiating to back or right shoulder
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Indigestion and bloating
  • Fever (if infection develops)
  • Jaundice (if bile duct is blocked)

Complications

If untreated, gall bladder stones can lead to following complications. When severe they can be life threatning
  • Acute Cholecystitis (infection of gall bladder)
  • Pancreatitis
  • Obstructive Jaundice due to Bile duct blockage
  • Cholangitis

Diagnosis usually includes:

  • Ultrasound Abdomen (most common investigation)
  • Blood tests
  • MRCP (if required)

Treatment

Most patients with asymptomatic gall stones don’t require treatment
  • Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (Gold Standard Treatment)
  • Minimally invasive (small incisions)
  • Less post-operative pain
  • Short hospital stay
  • Faster recovery
  • Faster recovery

Recovery After Surgery

  • Discharge usually same day or within 24 hours
  • Resume normal activities in 5–7 days
